Daniel Craig’s Best James Bond Outfits

Is Daniel Craig the best James Bond to date? Or is Sean Connery still the 007 King? That debate will rage on and on for an age, but regardless, Daniel Craig’s time as Bond has been one hell of a ride.

No Time To Die is the 25th entry in the long-running Bond series of films, the 5th outing for Daniel Craig as 007 and sadly, his last. To be fair, at 53 it’s definitely the right time for him to bow out and this must have been on his mind as he approached the big 50 while filming SPECTRE.

His hard work and commitment to making the role as authentic as possible is often under-appreciated - at Roberto Revilla London our association with Bond was brought to the fore in 2012 with the release of Skyfall. We were so excited and honoured to be part of the promotion and marketing team for what was about to become the biggest Bond movie ever.

Our little tailoring business hosted a group of journalists as part of their “secret agent experience day” in association with Heineken - my role was as their “tailoring quartermaster” when they dropped into my fitting room to be measured for their 007-esque suits! I still have the limited edition metal 007 Heineken bottles on display at home (the beer inside is probably long gone off… I probably should think about emptying those!).

James Bond has always been synonymous with being well-dressed whatever the occasion. Although movie tailoring can leave a little to be desired (what on earth was the tailor doing with Dave Bautista in SPECTRE, how did they mess up the back of Craig’s tux in Skyfall? EON Productions if you’re reading this, give me a call!)… generally speak 007 is always dressed to thrill no matter what situation he is in.

Although each version of Bond, from a fashion and style perspective, is an echo of his time, Daniel Craig for me has been the best. To pay homage to the great man’s time in the tux, here is a rundown of Daniel Craig’s best James Bond outfits while he has held the Licence To Kill.

Casino Royale (2006)

A peak lapel to accentuate shoulder breadth and give a more powerful presence, the first time Daniel Craig dons the famous 007 tux is a moment to behold.

Casino Royale Three Piece Suit.jpeg

The final scene where we see Bond finally hunt down the mysterious Mr. White.

Wearing a three piece navy pin stripe suit, looking every inch the hunter, Daniel Craig’s Bond towers over the wounded Mr. White and utters that famous line for the first time:

“The name’s Bond… James Bond.”

Quantum of Solace (2008)

Every man needs a great black suit in the wardrobe. And what better inspiration than the Tom Ford designed black suit from the slightly problematic but still thrilling Quantum of Solace?

James Bond Quantum Of Solace Jacket.jpg

One of the standout smart casual outfits of the entire “Daniel Craig 007 Saga” for me was this brilliantly simple combination from the early chase sequence in the film.

007 wears a midnight blue Harrington style bomber jacket with light chinos and brown suede boots.

Perfect for being comfortable, having room to manoeuvre but looking awesome while chasing down international criminals!

Skyfall (2012)

I cannot believe it’s been 9 years since the highest grossing Bond film of all time. THAT navy tux… although the tailoring in Skyfall is not great, the variety of outfits that “normal” men would want to replicate is the best in the series so far. The number of these I have made since that film came out - for weddings and for guys wanting to replace their aging tux with something that makes them feel like a her!

Light grey sharkskin - so versatile, so sophisticated. Also perfect for being shot in, as we see Bond on the wrong end of a bullet from Moneypenny in the opening sequence to Skyfall.

Another outfit I have recreated so many time for clients over the last 9 years since - it’s a great way to shake up the wardrobe with a suit that is extremely versatile.

Three button, fly front, midnight navy wool/cashmere - what’s not to love about the infamous “Skyfall” topcoat. A huge hit every winter - at the time of writing we have 6 of these in the works, nearly a decade later it is proving it’s classic, timeless & sophisticated appeal.

SPECTRE (2015)

We don’t get to do White Tie as often as maybe our American cousins do, but it’s still an essential piece of the formalwear toolkit. And the dinner jacket from SPECTRE is awesome. I’m not so keen on the 5 button cuffs and two button front, but otherwise it’s almost the mirror of the peak lapel dinner jacket from Casino Royale, my absolute favourite Bond tux ever… so it scores highly for that at least!

In black it’s stunning - the double wrap effect of this style of coat is perfect for those who really feel the chill in the coldest months of the year.

No Time To Die (2021)

Everyone thinks it’s linen but it’s actually corduroy - it’ll be interesting to see if Bond can bring corduroy to the fore considering most men think “geography teacher” when the word us mentioned! Three button, unstructured paired with a dark blue shirt… I think he looks fab as he leaps off bridges and gets shot at!

The best for last. For this movie anyway - James Bond will forever be associated with a tux first and foremost. Every man who gets dressed for a black tie night gets at least a whisper of that famous 007 theme running through his mind as he does his cufflinks up and adjusts his bow tie. A structured, shawl lapel dinner jacket in black is the perfect design to send this iteration of Bond off in style.
