Aaron Taylor-Johnson : The New 007?
I CALLED IT! The moment Aaron Taylor-Johnson stepped onto the screen as cockney assassin Tangerine in Bullet Train, I turned to Carolina and said, “That’s our next James Bond.”
I’ve been a big fan of ATJ ever since Kick Ass, Matthew Vaughn’s brilliant comic adaptation of a hapless teenager who becomes a vigilante “super hero”.
But I know many of you will be wondering who he is?
You’ll have seen him in lots of movies but wouldn’t have realised, because he is a chameleon. I remember seeing Christopher Nolan’s Tenet for the third time and only then did I realise the Tenet Commander Ives was Aaron Taylor-Johnson!
And that’s why I believe he has the potential to be a great James Bond. He is 34 years old, roughly the same age as Connery when he first took on the role over 60 years ago. That gives us the prospect of seeing a younger Bond and may be a step back in time if they decide to go down that route.
The contract is not signed yet but there’s never a fire without some little devil committing arson, so we expect an official announcement any moment - and when that happens stay tuned because we’ll be discussing this news in depth on the blog, podcast and YouTube Channel!
